Job summary

The Dixon Group, based in Chestertown, MD, is seeking a CNC Operator to set up and run CNC mills and lathes, turning blueprints into precise metal components. You will also inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure quality.

Ideal candidates read blueprints confidently, have CNC experience, and are reliable team players who can lift heavy parts and work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or related coursework preferred.
• 2–5 years CNC experience preferred.
• Experience as CNC Mill or Lathe Operator preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment required.
• Comfort reading blueprints and using calipers, micrometers, and other QC tools.
• Good with shop math.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and always looking to improve.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Great attitude and attendance.

Responsibilities

Location: 225 Talbot Boulevard, Chestertown, MD 21620
Work Hours: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00/Hour, + 15% Shift Differential

The Dixon Group is seeking a CNC Operator to join our team! This key role is at the heart of our production, transforming complex blueprints into high-quality, precision metal components. You'll operate state-of-the-art CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) mills and lathes and, just as importantly, serve as our quality expert by conducting meticulous inspections. The ideal candidate has a strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, is highly skilled with precision measuring tools (like calipers and micrometers), and is a proactive problem-solver.
