Job summary

GE Appliances in LaFayette, GA seeks an Engineering Model Maker/CNC Tech to fabricate prototype parts and assist in engineering builds. You will work with CAD/CAM tools and precise measuring devices to ensure parts meet drawings and tolerances.

Responsibilities include fabricating jigs and fixtures, reworking parts from drawings, and maintaining a safe workshop. Prior CNC/machine shop experience is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of CAD/CAM software including Windchill/CREO, MasterCAM, RhinoCAM, BobCAD, etc.
• Must be able to perform metalworking functions using CNC power brake, 3axis laser systems, 3 and 5 axis machining centers, conventional milling machines, welders, plasma cutters, grinders, presses, lathes, etc.
• Ability to read and use blueprints, sketches and drawings.
• Exert 20–50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Program, machine, form, fabricate or complete prototype parts or assemblies for engineering models per drawings.
• Fabricates jigs, fixtures, and dies to produce parts.
• Use precision measuring devices to verify conformance to specs.
• Rework/modify existing parts from marked-up drawings.
• Maintain neat, safe, and orderly work area and participate in team activities.
