Job summary

GE Appliances in LaFayette, GA is seeking a Tool & Die Maker for the night shift to lead die troubleshooting, repair, and tooling maintenance on stamping dies. You’ll perform surface grinding, manual machining, CNC work, and EDM operations, ensuring dies fit and run to tight tolerances and that presses stay productive through overnight production.

The role requires at least 2 years of Tool & Die experience, proficiency with blueprints, and the ability to make independent tooling decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Tool & Die experience.
• Experience with stamping dies (progressive/transfer preferred).
• Strong blueprint reading & die design interpretation.
• Manual machining and CNC proficiency.
• Ability to make independent tooling decisions.
• Bonus: SolidWorks/CAD, CNC programming, Tool & Die apprenticeship.
• Set up and operate Wire EDM machines; 2+ years of Wire EDM experience.
• Experience with precision machining and tight tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Familiarity with CAM programming or EDM machine controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead die troubleshooting and repair during overnight production.
• Maintain, inspect, and rebuild stamping dies and tooling.
• Perform surface grinding, manual machining, CNC work, and EDM operations.
• Fit, adjust, and align die components to tight tolerances.
• Conduct test runs to validate die performance.
• Document all PMs and repair activities.
• Partner with production to keep presses running efficiently.
