Job summary

Avalign Technologies in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist to set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling centers, producing precision parts per blueprints and work instructions.

The role requires 2+ years of CNC milling experience, proficiency with Mazak, Mori, or YCM machines, and ability to read drawings and use inspection tools. Second shift offers a 15% premium and a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical training preferred.
• 2+ years of CNC milling experience; Mazak, Mori, or YCM experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of machinery, tooling, measuring and gauging equipment; understanding of production processes.
• Expertise in machinery setups, blueprint reading, routers, and setup files.
• Understanding of part requirements to ensure quality assembly, both functional and cosmetic.
• Understanding basic CNC programming.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups, changeovers, and CNC program debugging; adjust machines and change tools as needed.
• Operate and maintain CNC Mill machines, finishing machines, hand tools, and fixtures; burr removal.
• Read and interpret blueprints, inspection check-sheets, and work instructions.
• Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, and comparators.
• Utilize ERP and machine monitoring systems to manage work orders and document quality checks electronically.
• Provide feedback to CNC programmers and keep setup documentation current; follow change control procedures.
• Support the training of other team members as needed.
• Drive continuous improvements towards quality and delivery within the work area.
• Execute the production plan to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
• Adhere to safety policies; wear PPE as required.
