Job summary

TAIT is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist I to operate milling machines and set up parts under supervision. This role supports higher-level machinists and focuses on upholding specifications and efficient workflow.

Candidates should have a HS diploma and milling experience; readiness for varying shifts including a 2nd shift with differential. The position emphasizes safety, quality control, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with milling experience (1–3 years).
• Proficiency with MS Office is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up products on milling machines with department support.
• Operate milling tools per programmer or higher machinists' guidance.
• Read blueprints and travelers for direction.
• Load/unload tools in a timely manner.
• Allocate 80%+ hours to contracted jobs per shift.
• Identify tooling and build required tooling.
• Create CNC offsets for fixtures and tooling.
• Perform tool breakage detection and wear analysis.
• Post-process during CNC cycle time and deliver parts.
• Conduct quality control to detect defects and malfunctions.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies; wear PPE as required.
• Capture labor hours and materials in Epicor.
