Job summary

TAIT is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist I for multiple shifts. The role focuses on setting up and operating milling equipment, interpreting blueprints, and delivering quality parts on time. Candidates typically have 1–3 years milling experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

The position includes overtime opportunities and a supportive team environment. Working in a production-focused shop, you will use Epicor for labor tracking and rely on seasoned machinists for guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years of practical milling experience.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a plus.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility with work schedule, including some weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Set up products on assigned milling machine tools with departmental support.
• Operate milling machines per program input from CNC programmers or higher-level machinists.
• Read and interpret blueprints and job travelers.
• Load and unload milling tools in a timely fashion.
• Allocate 80%+ of hours to contracted jobs each shift.
• Identify, locate, and build required tooling for production.
• Create and edit CNC offsets for fixtures and tooling.
• Perform tool breakage detection and wear symptom recognition.
• Deliver finished parts to designated areas; maintain production schedules.
• Conduct quality control and ensure safety and housekeeping standards.
