Job summary

DPI Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist in Hatboro, PA. You will independently set up and run CNC milling equipment in a job-shop environment, taking a job from setup instructions to first piece and production runs.

The right candidate will read complex drawings, apply GD&T, and establish tool/k coordinates, with a focus on precision and quality. Day shift, full-time, on-site.

Qualifications

• Previous CNC milling setup experience in a precision machining environment.
• Ability to independently set up a CNC mill from start to finish.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and close-tolerance machining.
• Ability to establish X, Y, and Z work coordinates.
• Experience setting tooling and making tool/wear offsets.
• Ability to cut and set up soft jaws and common workholding.
• Ability to inspect your own work and determine whether parts conform to print.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining problems without constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up CNC vertical machining centers.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T, and specifications.
• Install and indicate vises, fixtures, tooling, and workholding.
• Establish work offsets and tool offsets.
• Locate part zero accurately using appropriate setup methods.
• Select, install, touch off, and replace cutting tools.
• Cut and prepare soft jaws and other job-specific workholding when required.
• Load, verify, and safely prove out CNC programs.
• Make appropriate offset and minor program adjustments as necessary.
• Inspect first-piece and in-process parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, bore gages, and other inspection equipment.
• Maintain dimensional control throughout production.
• Troubleshoot tooling, finish, dimensional, and process issues.
• Perform multiple setups and operations as required.
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
• Work independently while communicating problems or potential improvements to supervision, programming, and quality personnel.
• Follow DPI safety, quality, AS9100, and ITAR requirements.

Job description

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Work location: 2800 Turnpike Drive, Suite 6, Hatboro, PA 19040 (on-site)

Sign-on bonus: Up to $3,500, paid quarterly over the first year. Employees must be in good standing for each bonus payment to be paid out.

DPI Inc. is a growing precision CNC machine shop serving aerospace, defense, industrial, and other high-specification customers. We are looking for an experienced CNC Mill Machinist who can independently set up and run CNC milling equipment in a job-shop environment.

This is not an operator position. We are looking for someone who understands the complete setup process and can take a job from setup instructions, drawings, and tooling requirements through a successful first piece and production run.

Qualifications — Preferred

• Haas CNC mill experience
• Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis machining
• Experience machining stainless steel, aluminum, tool steels, nickel alloys, and other difficult materials
• Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with Fanuc-style controls
• Experience with low-volume/high-mix job-shop manufacturing
