Summary

Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Study blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  2. Select and secure fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
  3. Calculate and set machine controls for optimal operation.
  4. Start and monitor machine operation, adjusting as necessary.
  5. Verify finished workpieces meet specifications.
  6. Set up and operate machines for trial runs to verify settings.
  7. Verify dimensions and alignment of assemblies.
  8. Install and test replacement parts and mechanisms.
  9. Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve issues.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent experience; 6 months to 1 year related experience preferred. Ability to read technical documents, perform mathematical calculations, and apply common sense instructions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Requires standing, handling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work involves exposure to mechanical parts, vibration, noise, and occasional risk of electrical shock.
