CNC Machinist III - 3rd Shift (10:30PM - 7:00AM)

Position Summary

At Parker Hannifin, new hires will receive:

  • Starting pay up to $32.76/hour depending on experience plus $2.00/hour shift differential
  • $5000 sign-on bonus
  • Shift: Sunday night through Friday morning - 10:30PM - 7:00AM
  • Training on 1st shift (7:00AM-3:30PM) before transitioning to 3rd shift

Our Wadsworth location specializes in serving the industrial and oil & gas markets, producing high-quality rotary and rodless pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders. We focus on high mix, low volume products with extensive customization, operating in a fully climate-controlled facility on two shifts to ensure quality and safety.

Responsibilities
Basic Functions:
  • Operate, set up, and produce components on CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines
  • Select, replace, and set up tooling
  • Edit CNC programs (G-code or conversational)
  • Troubleshoot machining issues
  • Partner with maintenance for repairs and calibration
  • Utilize CAD/CAM software (preferred)
  • Design and fabricate tooling/fixturing (preferred)
  • Support cross-training across machine types
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety policies and report concerns
  • Cross-train and support machinist training
  • Create and maintain setup sheets with process engineering
  • Use DNC systems for program management
  • Analyze tooling wear and improve operations
  • Support process development and capital equipment selection
  • Generate or modify CNC programs with macros and variables
  • Monitor machines and parts for defects or malfunctions
  • Perform tooling offsets and adjustments
  • Inspect parts against engineering drawings using gauges and CMM
  • Record data for labor and inventory control
  • Participate in team improvement activities and lean initiatives
  • Maintain 5S+Safety standards through housekeeping
  • Handle coolants and monitor levels
  • Suggest waste reduction and cost savings
  • Follow standard work instructions
  • Maintain professional team relationships
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • CNC coursework or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years machining experience including programming, tooling, and gauging
  • Proficient in computer software (Office365, etc.)
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Adaptability to changing roles and priorities
  • Overhead Crane certification (training provided)
  • Forklift certification preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, handling
  • Bending, twisting, manual lifting up to 25 lbs., and up to 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Occasional walking
