Job summary

Moog Military Aircraft LLC in Torrance, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support our Manufacturing team. You will report to the NC Programming Leader and work on-site in Torrance, CA, designing part processing methodologies and creating NC programs for multi-axis machines.

The role requires hands-on machining, setup, program prove-out, and collaboration with Design Engineers to improve manufacturability, quality, and efficiency, with a strong emphasis on continuous

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions in English.
• Hands on machining experience and proven part processing knowledge with machine programming skills
• Passion for continuous improvement with desire to eliminate waste and non-value added processes
• Strong human relations skills to work with diverse people and strong problem solving
• Ability to create new CNC programs for multi-axis tools (Milling, Turning, 5-Axis Mill/Turn, Grind, EDM)
• Minimum of 5 years CNC machine experience; able to set up and edit programs

Responsibilities

• Define part processing methodology to produce components meeting drawings
• Create NC program code for specific machines and assist operators with prove-out
• Hands on machining using various tools including setup and pilot runs
• Improve operations to reduce cost, improve quality and shorten lead times
• Collaborate with Design Engineers for manufacturability and lean improvements
