Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for its on-site Torrance, CA facility. You will define part processing methods, create NC programs, and perform hands-on machining across multiple processes, including milling, turning, and multi-axis operations.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement and close collaboration with engineering teams. The position requires at least 5 years of CNC experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to set up and edit programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow English instructions and perform basic math.
• Hands-on machining experience with part processing knowledge and programming skills.
• Passion for continuous improvement and waste elimination.
• Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to create CNC programs for multi-axis machines (Milling, Turning, 5-Axis Mill/Turn, Grind, EDM).
• Minimum 5 years CNC machine experience; able to set up and edit programs.

Responsibilities

• Define part processing methodology to meet engineering drawings.
• Create NC program code for specific machines and assist operators with prove-out.
• Hands-on machining including programming, setup, prove-out, and low‑volume pilot production runs.
• Support machining operations to improve safety, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Establish tooling and gauging packages for prototype and production.
• Contribute to work holding design and development for machined parts.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing instructions including operation sheets and setup folders.
• Improve existing manufacturing methods to reduce cost and shorten lead times.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers to achieve manufacturability.
• Establish standard times and routing sheets for operations.
• Provide technical support to production areas to solve problems and improve processes.
• Participate in Tiered Management meetings and value stream improvements.
• Support model shop tooling and fixturing fabrication.
• Support rapid prototyping including additive manufacturing processes.
• Work with methods and programming group to learn advanced machine processes.
