Job summary
Freeform seeks a Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining) for new graduates joining in Summer 2027 in Hawthorne, CA. You will develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for complex metal components on multi-axis machines, collaborating with engineers to establish machining standards for high-volume production.
The role requires a hands-on, technically adept candidate comfortable with GD&T and post-processing of 3D-printed parts, plus a willingness to work onsite five days a week and participate
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with CNC programming and machining.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Nice to have MasterCAM or Hypermill.
- Experience with 5-axis machines and DMG Mori/Siemens controls.
- Familiarity with metal 3D printed parts post-processing.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for complex metal components.
- Set up and refine operations on multi-axis CNC machines (DMG Mori, Haas).
- Interpret CAD models and GD&T specifications to create precise machining programs.
- Select tools and strategies for efficiency and repeatability; maintain libraries and documentation.
- Troubleshoot CNC issues and collaborate with machinists and design engineers.
- Design and deploy automation to enhance quality and production rates.
