Job summary

Copeland is hiring a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift in Rushville, NE. You will operate conventional, NC, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic parts, ensuring adherence to production and quality standards in an ISO9001 environment.

Responsibilities include setup, operation, cross-functional collaboration, and ongoing process improvements. Candidates must pass background checks and drug screening as part of pre-employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints including title blocks, views, dimensions, tolerances and symbols.
• Perform shop math including decimals and unit conversions as required.
• Demonstrate proactive problem solving and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Operates machinery/process (manual, NC, CNC) in assigned work cell or area
• Ability to promote to next level, Machine Center Operator II: Learn/demonstrate repetitive ability to setup ALL Manual/NC/CNC equipment/processes in assigned work cell or area
• Demonstrated ability to setup and operate ALL assigned equipment/processes in work cell, validation by Machine Coordinator and Production Leadership
• Work cross functionally between machines and cells
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
• Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment
• Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining problems
• Initiates and/or support process improvements and corresponding documentation
• Trains other team members in assigned operations as needed
• Follow Work Instructions for each step of the process to meet acceptable production standards during and after training completed
• Maintain hourly/daily activity records supporting quality production
• Assure compliance to all safety, environmental and health standards, procedures, and practices
