Job summary

Holt Technical Staffing is assisting a specialist firearms manufacturing and gunsmithing organization in Connecticut to find an experienced CNC Maintenance Mechanic. This role focuses on maintaining CNC and production equipment with emphasis on Fanuc controls, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and a proactive attitude to minimize downtime.

The position starts on 1st shift for training (approximately 6:00 AM–2:00 PM) then transitions to 2nd shift as you become proficient.

Qualifications

5+ years of CNC maintenance experience.
Strong knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls.
Experience with CNC mills or lathes; 2-3 axis.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong hand and power tool skills.
Comfortable working independently and making decisions without constant supervision.
Manufacturing or machining experience within a production environment.
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across CNC and manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshoot Fanuc CNC controls and machine-related issues.
Diagnose electrical faults involving motors, drives, power supplies, wiring, switches and relays.
Troubleshoot mechanical systems including gears, chains, sprockets and bearings.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Work closely with engineers, operators and supervisors to maximise machine uptime.
Support equipment installations, moves and upgrades.
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
Work with external machine tool technicians when required.
Maintain a safe, clean and efficient manufacturing environment.
