Job summary

CoWorx Staffing Services in Portland, CT is seeking a skilled CNC Maintenance Mechanic II. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving CNC machinery and production equipment to maximize uptime, quality, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has extensive CNC troubleshooting experience and a strong background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, with experience in aerospace/defense environments and PLC-controlled automation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 8+ years of CNC troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Experience working with vendors and processing maintenance materials/services.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in aerospace/defense or precision manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
• Welding, fabrication, or machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on CNC machines and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Remove, repair, and replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
• Install, relocate, and commission shop machinery and manufacturing equipment.
• Adjust and calibrate machinery, controls, and mechanical systems for proper performance.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Fabricate or modify repair components to support equipment reliability.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for parts and services.
• Document maintenance activities and ensure safety and quality standards.
