Job summary

Collins Aerospace currently seeks skilled machinists for a 3rd shift (Mon–Fri, 10pm–6am) in Carroll, IA, to program, assemble, and operate CNC and manual machines. The role emphasizes GD&T interpretation, precision measurements, and quality control within a safety-focused environment.

As part of RTX, the team values disciplined craftsmanship, collaboration across cells, and continuous improvement. Training will start 6am–2pm for the first 3–6 months before transitioning to night shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma (or GED) or related vocational/technical training with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Certification in core discipline with 4–5 months of employment.
• Certification on multiple programs labeled as moderate to difficult.

Responsibilities

• Produces machine parts by programming, assembling, and operating CNC or manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders).
• Interprets blueprints, GD&T and specifications for material and dimensional requirements.
• Performs machining setups and makes adjustments as required.
• Conducts inspections of work produced and maintains quality/safety standards.
• Exhibits RTX Leadership Behaviors and Values.
