Job summary

Brasstech in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a CNC Machinist/Set Up to set up CNC lathes, mills and manual machines in a production-paced environment. You will read blueprints, follow routings and tooling instructions to hold tight tolerances and transfer programs to CNC machines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and experience with CNC mill/lathe setups. You will inspect parts, document measurements, mentor newer machinists, and support multiple machines as cycle times permit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with CNC mill and lathe setup.

Responsibilities

• Set-up CNC lathes, mills, and manual machines for production.
• Maintain and update setup procedures.
• Work from blueprints and tooling instructions to hold tolerances.
• Transfer programs to CNC machines using computer skills.
• Inspect parts to print, incl. dimensions and visuals.
• Complete documentation including part measurements and shop floor paperwork.
• Train and mentor less experienced machinists on machine setup.
• Run more than one machine where cycle time allows.
• Perform other duties as required.
