EXPANSIA Group, in partnership with JHNA, CTSi, and Aether Aerospace, seeks a CNC Machinist to join a defense technology platform serving DoD and related national security customers. This full-time, permanent role is based in Hollywood, MD, with focus on precision craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

The proposed salary range for this position is $35.47 - $48.08/ hr based on experience. There are factors that can influence final salary including government labor categories and location.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
• Education and Years of Experience: High School Diploma/GED and 8 years minimum CNC experience/programming
• Must have strong CAD/CAM programming skills
• Proficient with Solidworks/Inventor
• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Ability to work in a high paced environment
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to provide constructive alternatives/approaches to solving issues

Responsibilities

• Program, setup and operate CNC Live tool lathes
• Program, setup and operate 3, 4, and 5 Axis CNC milling machines
• Setup and operate general shop equipment such as shears, drill presses, manual mills and lathes
• Program CNC machines using CAM software
• Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints
• Take precise measurements to ensure quality using calipers and gauges
• Select tooling to complete tasks
• Plan proper sequence of tasks
• Design and create fixturing and work-holding for complex parts
• Maintain tooling inventory
• Provide material sizes and run times for quoting
• Quality check in-process parts
• Identify need for maintenance and minor repairs
• Maintain a safe and clean workstation
• Contribute to team effort
• Operate CNC Waterjet to cut raw stock
• Understand AS9100 project requirements
• Complete documentation to follow AS9100 procedures
• Hardware installation/CNC Press brake operator a plus
• Produce parts with tolerances as low as +/- .0005
