Job summary

S&C Electric Company in Chicago is seeking a Machinist to join the Metal Finishing Operations team. You will operate automated and manual machines, read blueprints, and maintain quality in a production environment.

The shift is 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday–Friday with overtime as needed. Starting pay is $22.25 per hour, and eligibility exists for an annual incentive bonus, reflecting our commitment to fair compensation and employee ownership.

Qualifications

• High School diploma / GED.
• 1 year machinist and manufacturing experience (a plus).
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial calipers, protractors and tape measures.
• Ability to learn machine controls and programs.

Responsibilities

• Use of computer-controlled sheet metal processing machines to produce high-quality parts by reading and interpreting complex blueprints.
• Using simple material handling equipment and overhead cranes to handle sheet-metal stock ranging from 30 lbs. to 150 lbs.
• Inspecting parts using various measurement tools.
