Job summary

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis, LLC. (MD&A) seeks a skilled machine operator to run and monitor fabrication equipment in a full-time capacity. The role emphasizes precision, material handling, and adherence to production schedules in a power generation support shop.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years in manufacturing, strong measurement skills, and the ability to read work orders, adjust machines, and maintain a safe, organized work area. Training on lean practices is provided.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the area.
• Ability to communicate clearly to achieve intended objective.
• Ability to read and use quality control tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, and tape measures.
• Good organizational skills
• Understanding of lean and 6S safety in a manufacturing environment
• Good computer skills

Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using math and measuring tools.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
• Select tools, machines, and materials for preparation of machine work.
• Modify cutting programs to account for problems and save changes.
• Store or retrieve part programs and displays, or transfer data to media.
• Measure, inspect, and test completed units for defects and conformance.
• Read work orders or production schedules to determine specs and tolerances.
• Start, run, monitor machines and record operational data.
• Adjust machine speeds and actions to meet product specs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, working environment.
• Support other shop areas as needed.

PARTS & RETROFIT DIVISION

Duties & Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of math and instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work.
• Modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and save modified programs.
• Enter commands to store or retrieve part programs, graphic displays, or programs that transfer data to other media.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Read work orders and/or production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, location of cutting lines, and dimension and tolerances.
• Start and run machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
• Adjust machine speeds and actions, according to product specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, working environment.
• Support other areas of the shop as needed.
