Job summary

MD&A Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC seeks an experienced multi-axis CNC Machinist to operate, set up, and perform select programming for creep-feed grinding on hard metals and alloys used in industrial gas turbines and aerospace.

The role requires interpreting drawings, loading fixtures, and monitoring processes to achieve high-tolerance finishes with strict quality control while maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• 5 years of CNC operation and G-code programming experience.
• Familiar with CAD/CAM software and CNC grinding principles.
• Experience with precision metrology and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, IGT (Industrial Gas Turbine) Division, a world-class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, is seeking an experienced multi-axis CNC Machinist looking to continue their career in advanced manufacturing technology.

In this role, incumbent will be responsible for set-up, operation and some, yet limited programming of specialized CNC grinding machine, utilizing the creep feed technique to precisely grind complex shapes, hard, thin, metals, and soft alloys by taking very slow, deep cuts, requiring precise setup, monitoring of machine parameters, and strict quality control to achieve high-tolerance finishes on workpieces, often used in industrial gas turbines and aerospace applications.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and G-code programming.
• Install fixtures, attachments, and cutting tools, then load raw materials into the CNC machine.
• Enter program instructions and monitor all live production to avoid errors.
• Use precision tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify all work matches exact tolerances.
• Perform and/or coordinate all routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with all safety standards.
• Track and document all production data and elevate any nonconformities.
• Perform deburring operations within specified tolerances.
• Perform additional and related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School/Equivalent Diploma and/or Specified Trade School certificate.
• 5 years of experience with CNC Machine operation and G-code programming
• Understanding of CNC grinding principles and basic programming.
• Familiar with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)
• Understanding of work materials such as steel, aluminum, alloys, and/or composites.
• Well-versed in various precision measurement skills using various metrology tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and great attention to detail.
• Good organizational, planning, and timekeeping skills.
• Manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination
