Job summary

Millat Industries, a family-owned manufacturer, is seeking a CNC Machinist for the Night Shift at our Kettering/Dayton, OH location. If you are detail-driven and want to contribute to a stable, growing precision machining company, we want to meet you.

Qualifications

• Trade school or vocational education completed.
• 4–10 years of trade school, vocational education or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece.
• Follow sequence of operations on router.
• Determine and follow set-up requirements on set-up sheets.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and saws.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as feeds and speeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut, or input/edit programs.
• Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust controls or program as required.
• Set up and operate machines on first piece run to verify accuracy of machine settings and program.
• Verify dimensions and alignment using micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, and other inspection equipment.
• May confer with engineers, team leaders, production control, dept manager, and others to resolve machining problems.
• Communicate with co-workers and team leader to receive instructions and coordinate activities.

Qualifications

• Combination of between 4 – 10 years of trade school, vocational education and/or work experience
• Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
• Ability to exert between 10 and 50 pounds on occasional basis
• Quality oriented & conscious
• Always adheres to Company safety policies
• Exhibits characteristics of good role-model
• Reliable with excellent attendance record
• Requires advanced training through in-house and/or external training methods

Compensation

• Pay negotiable with experience
• 10% added shift differential on Night Shift

Schedule –Approximately 48 hours per week, core hours 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday–Friday. Occasional Saturdays as needed.
