Job summary

MP RPO vacancy seeks an experienced CNC machinist to set up Mazak horizontal and vertical milling centers and run related equipment in a fast-paced shop. Candidates should be proficient with Mazatrol Smooth G/Nexus controls and have strong G/M code knowledge, along with the ability to read prints and process travelers.

Ideal candidates boast a minimum of five years as CNC setup personnel and a track record of maintaining tool lists, offsets, and pallet fixturing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years combined CNC operator and set-up experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a CNC set-up person.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and travelers.
• Experience with Mazak control equipment and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set up horizontal and vertical milling machines (Mazak) and related equipment.
• Work with Mazatrol Smooth G and Nexus controls; knowledge to be confirmed during interview.
• Understand and apply G & M code functions in milling operations.
• Link multiple machining operations; manage tooling lists, offsets, and pallet fixturing.
• Read prints, process travelers, and maintenance procedures with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with programming to ensure proper milling techniques.
• Adhere to ISO and quality policies; maintain clean, organized work area.
• Lift or move objects up to 40 lbs as needed.

Job description

Who you are:

Do you have experience running horizontal and vertical CNC Milling machines? Candidates must be capable of setting up and running Mazak HCN-5000 Horizontal Milling Centers, Mazak 700, or equivalent equipment.

What you will be doing:

• Set up horizontal and vertical milling machines (Mazak) and related equipment
• Working knowledge of Mazatrol Smooth G and Nexus controls required (will confirm during interview process)
• Knowledge of Fanuc Series 18i-M and 18i-MB controls a Plus.
• A working understanding of G & M Code functions.
• The ability to link multiple machining operations to each other
• Manage tool list, tooling offsets, pallet fixturing and related tooling within the cell
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of speeds and feeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their applications
• Work closely with the programing department to develop and insure proper milling machining techniques
• Read prints and process travelers without supervision
• Read and understand work instructions and maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of Inspection equipment to measure and record all dimensional features as required
• Follow the direction of the Cell lead and execute proven fabrication recipes as documented while highlighting any issues encountered
• Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat and orderly condition, while always exercising good machining practices.
• Understand and adhere to ISO and Quality policies.
• Required to lift or move objects up-to 40 lbs.
• Other duties as required

• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Minimum 10 years combined CNC operator and set-up
• Must have a minimum of Five years' experience as a CNC set-up person.

Additional information:

• 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday, 3:30 pm-2:00 am
• Pay rate: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
