Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector in Huntsville, AL seeks a CNC Machinist Lead Weekend Shift to join the Mechanical Manufacturing team. The role requires programming, setup, and operation of CNC Mills and Lathes, reading drawings and CAD models to produce precision parts, and leading a small team on weekend shifts.

Experience with aerospace components is preferred; 5-axis or mill-turn experience is a plus. Applicants must meet physical requirements and be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED with 5+ years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & Lathe(s).
• Ability to lift 35+ pounds unassisted and stand for long periods.
• US Citizenship and eligibility to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a small team by example.
• Read engineering drawings and CAD models to produce precision parts.
• Experience manufacturing aerospace components; 5-axis or mill-turn experience is a plus.
• Work on multiple projects in a fast-paced R&D environment with minimal supervision.
