Pelican Products in South Deerfield, MA is hiring a Machinist III for the 2nd shift to program, set up, and operate CNC machines based on drawings and process specifications.

You will build sub-routines, select tooling, review programs, and maintain tight tolerances while supporting junior operators and keeping a safe, clean work area.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of CNC and Bridgeport-type machine operation.
• Comfortable measuring with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Experience with CNC programming is a plus.
• Able to produce accurate, high-quality parts in a busy environment.
• Able to work overtime including evenings or weekends.
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to work well with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines from drawings and programming tools.
• Build sub-routines to account for geometry and tolerances for accurate production.
• Manually program and run Bridgeport-type machines from blueprints.
• Select tooling, review programs, and edit as needed to stay on spec.
• Maintain tight tolerances based on part drawings.
• Handle secondary operations such as deburring when needed.
• Support and guide lower-level operators on proper machine use.
• Keep production records updated and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report equipment or material issues.
