Pelican Products in South Deerfield, MA is hiring a Machinist III for the 2nd shift to program, set up, and operate CNC machines based on drawings and process specifications.

You will build sub-routines, select tooling, review programs, and maintain tight tolerances while supporting junior operators and keeping a safe, clean work area.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of CNC and Bridgeport-type machine operation.
• Comfortable measuring with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Experience with CNC programming is a plus.
• Able to produce accurate, high-quality parts in a busy environment.
• Able to work overtime including evenings or weekends.
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to work well with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines from drawings and programming tools.
• Build sub-routines to account for geometry and tolerances for accurate production.
• Manually program and run Bridgeport-type machines from blueprints.
• Select tooling, review programs, and edit as needed to stay on spec.
• Maintain tight tolerances based on part drawings.
• Handle secondary operations such as deburring when needed.
• Support and guide lower-level operators on proper machine use.
• Keep production records updated and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report equipment or material issues.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The annual U.S. pay range for this position is listed below. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
