Pelican Products, Inc. is seeking a Machinist II for the 2nd shift in South Deerfield, MA. You will program, set up, and operate CNC milling equipment to produce precision components while driving quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

The role requires reading engineering drawings and using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure parts meet specifications. The ideal candidate has 3+ years CNC experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines per drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies for quality and efficiency.
• Edit and optimize CNC programs to improve performance.
• Perform manual machining on Bridgeport-style mills as needed.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring tools.
• Maintain production records and support quality documentation.
