Job summary

Leslie-Controls is seeking a skilled Machinist for the 2nd shift to set up and operate CNC lathe and mill machines. You will adjust speeds/feeds, edit programs, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances by inspecting with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

The role requires reading blueprints, working independently, and complying with a 6S manufacturing environment and safety policies. Lifting up to 50 lbs and shift/overtime flexibility are needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of machining experience.
• Able to set up and operate CNC machines.
• Understand G and M codes.
• Read drawings/blueprints; determine missing dimensions.
• Work independently.
• Use measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• PLC knowledge to edit programs.
• Operate manual secondary equipment.
• Operate lathes and/or mills.
• Hold tolerances of ±0.001".
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Shift flexibility
• Overtime flexibility

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe/mill to perform various machining operations per drawings.
• Edit speeds and feeds and program parameters.
• Check dimensions using precision measuring tools against blueprints.
• Improvise setup for non-standard work.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow 6S.
• Report problems to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
