Leidos' Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift to join our team at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The ideal candidate will need to have experience in programming, setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Must be capable of reading engineering drawings.
• Operation of CNC lathes (primarily), provide backup operations on CNC mills and other manual equipment.
• Expected to set up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision finished goods within print tolerance specification.
• Use fixtures or gauges to verify and accomplish dimensional checks.
• Experience in the manufacturing of large aerospace components from exotic materials is a plus. 5‑axis and/or mill‑turn experience.
• Must be able to work on different projects in an ever‑changing, rapid‑paced environment with little or no assistance.
• Performs other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3‑5 years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Intermediate knowledge of shop math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as understand basic work instructions for product fabrication.
• General knowledge, skills, and understanding with hand and power tools to include deburring tools, wrenches, etc.
• Proficiency with precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment (micrometers, calipers, electronic height gauges, etc.).
• Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Must be able to work full‑time, 4‑days per week, 10‑hours per shift, 2nd shift.
• US Citizenship requirement and clearance requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components from exotic materials.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic PC skills for data entry, timecard and production time entries.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
