Job summary

Tecomet is seeking a CNC Machinist I in Wayland, MA to operate CNC machines, maintain quality, and keep accurate production records. The role requires attention to safety, GMP/GDP compliance, and teamwork within a continuous improvement culture.

You will read engineering drawings, set up tooling, perform basic offsets, and participate in routine maintenance and 5S housekeeping while meeting productivity targets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a production environment (E/D).
• Associates degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.
• GCSE/NVQ Math and English desirable (UK only).
• Ability to operate and maintain a CNC Machine.
• Solid math skills for measuring and counting records.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize tasks within deadlines.
• Proven commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines within tolerances per work instructions and drawings.
• Change dull tooling and make minor offsets for wear.
• Ensure product quality using operator owned quality standards and inspection reports.
• Perform routine maintenance per daily machine checklist and PM schedule.
• Perform hand finishing and 5S housekeeping in the work area.
• Follow GMP/GDP and complete job routers/cards.
