Job summary

Tecomet is seeking a CNC Machinist I to produce precision parts by operating CNC machines, reading engineering drawings, and maintaining quality and safety standards. You will follow work instructions, complete job routers, and document activity in the tracking system in a clean, compliant production area in West Newton, MA.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, production experience, and a willingness to learn tooling and machining.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a production environment.
• Associate degree or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.
• Knowledge of CNC machine operation and safety.
• Good math, planning, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines within tolerances following work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Change dull tooling and/or make minor offsets and adjustments for tooling wear.
• Ensure product quality by working to OOQ standards and using measuring equipment to interpret inspection reports.
• Perform routine maintenance per daily machine checklist and adhere to PM schedule.
• Perform hand finishing.
• Follow GMP/GDP and complete routers/cards.
• Maintain safe working practices and report Safety, Health & Environmental issues.
• Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways to improve productivity.
• Record all activities in the job tracking system.
• Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities.
• Identify and support manufacturing issues with supervision and assist in resolution.
• Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards.
• Perform other duties or special projects as required.
