Job summary

Collins Aerospace in San Marcos, TX, is seeking a Machinist I to set up and operate a CNC machine, inspect parts with precision tools, and fabricate metal components to tight tolerances.

The role is onsite on the 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM) with compensation of $21–$23 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience interpreting blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, GD&T for operation and dimensional requirements.
• G&M Code knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub-units or complete units using mechanical equipment.
• Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process.
• Performs machining setups and adjusts as required.
• Conducts inspections of work produced.
• Checks SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging, and measurements.
• Keeps records and maintains quality/safety standards.
• Performs other duties as required.
