Job summary

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Machinist III in Carroll, IA. The role requires operating CNC and manual machinery, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring quality through inspections. Onsite position with potential extended shifts and a $1,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

You will support multiple programs, drive continuous improvement, and adhere to EHS, Quality, and CI standards while maintaining detailed records and troubleshooting complex machining challenges.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a Machine Operator Certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain FAR 145 certification if requested by the business.

Responsibilities

• Interprets blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, GD&T for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub-units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment.
• Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process.
• Performs machining setups and makes adjustments as required.
• Conducts inspections of work produced.
• Checks SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging and measurements.
• Keeps records and maintains quality/safety standards.
• Exhibits RTX Leadership Behaviors and Values.
• Supports and follows all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality and CI functions.
