Job summary

SARSTEDT is hiring a CNC Machinist Level 1 for 1st shift in Newton, NC. You will operate manual and CNC machines, read blueprints, set up tooling, and ensure quality parts. The role involves training apprentices and collaborating with engineering leadership to resolve machining issues.

Eligible candidates have a high school diploma or GED and experience with CAD/CAM programming, milling, turning, EDM, or mold making. Safety and quality are emphasized in a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience reading blueprints/drawings and tolerances.
• Experience with CAD/CAM programming and milling/turning/EDM a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM design software and manufacturing software; Excel/Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC machinery (mills, lathes, grinders, shapers).
• Select tools, fixtures, and equipment for machining operations.
• Adjust speeds, feeds, and depths as needed.
• Monitor operations and inspect finished parts for quality.
• Assist training apprentices and collaborate with Engineering Manager to resolve issues.
