Job summary

Forma-Fab Metals in Mebane, NC is seeking a 1st Shift Entry Level Machinist to program, load, operate, and monitor NC machines to fabricate parts and run production lots. The role requires reading blueprints and maintaining a high standard of quality in a safe, organized workspace.

You will plan machining processes, set up mills and lathes, load stock, verify first-run positions, and document shop actions. A High School diploma or GED and CNC experience are expected; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4-5 years of CNC experience.
• Conceptual thinking and problem solving.
• Mechanical and technical skills for CNC machines and CAD/CAM tech.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining process by studying orders, blueprints, plans, and tolerances.
• Plan stock inventory and verify stock levels.
• Program mills and lathes with appropriate instructions and offsets.
• Set up mills and lathes with chucks, tools, and accessories.
• Load stock, measure first-run parts, and ensure quality.
• Maintain safe operations and comply with safety regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.
• Document actions and communicate shifts' status.
• Input data into ERP system; assist in other areas as needed.
