Job summary

Elyria Plastic Products is seeking an entry‑level CNC Machinist Apprentice to train in our Toolroom/CNC Department. Apprentices are sponsored through Lorain County Community College (LCCC) with 100% tuition reimbursement, and you will gain hands‑on training while developing precision manufacturing skills.

The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with class schedules accommodated. We provide comprehensive benefits after 60 days and ongoing mentorship from experienced

Qualifications

• Interest in pursuing CNC machining or manufacturing as a career.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Enrollment in or acceptance to an LCCC CNC program is preferred.
• Ability to read basic measurements and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools.
• Learn CNC programs, machine controls, tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Assist with machine setup, troubleshooting, assembly, and testing.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Work alongside machinists, programmers, engineers, and production team members to build your skills.
• Apprentices are sponsored through Lorain County Community College (LCCC).
• 100% tuition reimbursement provided by the company.
• Hands‑on training and mentorship from experienced machinists.
• Scheduling to accommodate apprenticeship classes, labs, and coursework.
