Job summary

Elyria Plastic Products is seeking an entry‑level CNC Machinist Apprentice to train in our Toolroom/CNC Department. Apprentices are sponsored through Lorain County Community College (LCCC) with 100% tuition reimbursement, and you will gain hands‑on training while developing precision manufacturing skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools.
• Learn CNC programs, machine controls, tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Assist with machine setup, troubleshooting, assembly, and testing.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Work alongside machinists, programmers, engineers, and production team members to build your skills.
• Apprentices are sponsored through Lorain County Community College (LCCC).

We are seeking a CNC Machinist Apprentice to join our Toolroom/CNC Department. At EPP, you won’t spend every day making the same part over and over. As a custom manufacturing company, we produce a wide variety of precision components using different machines, materials, and processes. This means you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of machining techniques and continue building your skills throughout your apprenticeship.

This position’s standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. We understand that apprenticeship classes are an important part of your development, and we are willing to work with your class schedule to help you successfully balance your education and hands‑on training.

This position works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to CNC machinery, moving equipment, noise, and machining processes. Safety, quality, and teamwork are priorities.
