Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks a Machinist for our Columbus Forge team in a 2nd Weekend Shift role (Fri-Sun, 6:30 pm–6:30 am). The position focuses on setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC equipment to produce precise aerospace components.

You will read blueprints, inspect parts, collect data, and collaborate to meet production goals while adhering to safety and 6S standards in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for entry.
• Experience or familiarity with CNC machining and reading blueprints preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and assist with maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, lathes, and related equipment to manufacture aerospace components.
• Read blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements and tooling needs.
• Perform dimensional inspections using precision instruments to verify conformance to specs.
• Troubleshoot machine/process issues and support preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Collect production data and collaborate with teammates to improve performance and quality.
• Follow safety, 6S, and environmental standards to maintain a clean and organized work area.
