Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma. Additional certifications (CNC Mill/Lathe operation courses, etc.) are highly preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience running CNC Mill/Lathe, including setups and programming are desired.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain demanding physical operations throughout the workday.
• Attitude: Strong desire to succeed as part of a team; embrace Morrison “Support Built In” philosophy.
• Mechanical Skills: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance; committed to safe operation.
• Technical and Design Skills: Read blueprints, drawings and models; analyze plans for proper use.
• Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs.

Responsibilities

• Review Bills of Materials, Parts Orders and MFG lists daily with Department Leads to set priorities.
• Schedule flow of jobs through production for efficiency; monitor progress for timeliness and value.
• Determine and execute proper bores, tapers, counter-bores, hubs and finished outside diameter.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve parts and address discrepancies; inform supervisor.
• Drive improvements in tools and processes; implement changes to benefit department and production.
• Choose proper cutters and drills based on job parameters.
• Observe machining, check for errors, inspect finished work for accuracy.
• Perform daily machine and work area maintenance (coolant, lube, chip barrel, scrap, tools).
• Read/respond to emails pertaining to machining job functions.
