Job summary

Morrison Container Handling Solutions in Chicago seeks a dedicated CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift to safely operate Mazak lathes and mills. You will review prints, BOMs and orders, set up jobs, and manage workflow with leaders to meet schedule targets.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of CNC experience, Mazak programming exposure, strong blueprint-reading skills, and a commitment to quality and safety in a busy production environment. Training and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma; CNC certs preferred.
• 3–5 years' CNC Mill/Lathe experience including setups and programming.
• Mazak programming experience highly desired.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work physically demanding shifts.
• Strong team player with commitment to safety and quality.
• Read blueprints, drawings and models; interpret tolerances.
• Knowledge of production processes and machining best practices.

Responsibilities

• Review BOMs, parts orders and prints to set daily priorities.
• Schedule workflow with leads to maximize production efficiency.
• Determine features, finishes and tolerances from engineering data.
• Collaborate with engineers to fix print discrepancies.
• Drive tooling/process improvements and implement changes.
• Select appropriate tooling for each job and program Mazak machines.
• Inspect finished parts for correct features and tolerances.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area tidy.
• Read emails related to machining tasks and respond promptly.
