Job Description

EBAD seeks a qualified CNC Machinist, reporting to the Machine Shop manager. This position is for 2nd shift (starting at 3 pm) in Moorpark, CA.

The role involves fabricating precision-machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machining centers or lathes according to work orders, routers, and blueprints. Parts are generally small, and production runs are short, ranging from 10 to 500 pieces.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate blueprints and develop machining strategies.
• Select and assemble tooling for machining hardware.
• Perform first-piece setup ready for inspection.
• Verify parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Change tools and offsets based on cutting conditions during CNC operation.
• Use proper methodologies and cutting tools to produce quality parts adhering to standards.
• Set up multiple spindle lathes with live tooling.
• Set up 5-axis mills through first-piece setup.
• Experience with Swiss screw machines is a plus.
• Adjust feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters based on materials like aluminum, steel, titanium, etc.
• Revise programs as needed based on engineering or production requirements.
• Participate in troubleshooting CNC programming and production issues.
• Machine prototype hardware and production runs.
• Perform deburring when necessary.
• Communicate clearly with shifts and leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Minimum 5 years experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and/or mills.
• Experience with DMG DMU is a plus.
• Experience setting up complex hardware machines.
• At least 5 years experience operating manual mills and lathes independently.
• Experience machining aerospace materials like titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics.
• Experience with CNC Swiss-type machines is a plus.
• Knowledge of ESPRIT, MasterCam software is a plus.
• Understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical instructions effectively.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; previous lead experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.

Compensation:

Salary range: $40,000 - $90,000 per year, determined by education, experience, and skills. A $2/hour shift differential applies for 2nd shift.
