Job Description
MANUFACTURING LEAD
POSITION SUMMARY:

As the most senior skilled production staff member, you will oversee employee work operations within the department. You should have extensive experience in production functions including machine setup, process planning, machining, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. You will perform activities related to NC/CNC machine operation, troubleshoot technical issues, and train others. You will coordinate activities, give instructions, motivate workers, and ensure production standards are met. This role is based on the highest level of work performed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Transmit instructions and work specifications; train and instruct employees.
  • Perform all tasks of workers in the group, including machine setup and operation.
  • Understand machine programming, including NC/CNC, and utilize safety practices.
  • Plan machining operations, set up machines, and perform developmental machining work.
  • Troubleshoot machine and process issues, recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct training and ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate workflow, quality control, and team leadership.
  • Explain policies, interpret specifications, and determine operation sequences.
  • Motivate workers, suggest improvements, and assist with personnel decisions.
  • Resolve technical problems and coordinate with design engineers.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Annual certification in safe practices, advanced SPC, problem solving, and leadership training are required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires a one-year college or technical school certificate plus ten years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to read instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information effectively.
  • Mathematical skills including probability, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Problem-solving skills to interpret instructions and resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing software.
