Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Delaware seeks CNC Machinists for Weekday Nights and Weekend Day shifts. You will set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture parts to print tolerances with minimal supervision, on night and weekend schedules with benefits and regular pay increases.

Responsibilities include reading specifications, following SOPs, inspecting parts and maintaining paperwork, while supporting other fabrication and furnace operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years’ experience as CNC Operator or equivalent technical machining certification/degree.
• Previous experience setting up and operating a CNC machine in a production environment.
• Experience with precision measurement methods and systems.
• Experience with computers (data entry, email).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machining center(s) per work instructions.
• Analyze specifications, drawings and rough sketches to plan layout and sequence of operations.
• Follow work instructions and SOPs; maintain documentation for parts.
• Inspect machined products and report results.
• Assist in other shop areas (pre-form fabrication, lay-up, furnace operation, sand blasting).
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve issues.
