Job summary

Dover Precision Components is seeking a 2nd shift CNC Machinist to operate and set up lathes and mills, following drawings and specifications to maintain tight tolerances. You will perform first piece inspections, document time and part counts, and troubleshoot issues on the shop floor.

The role requires 2+ years of CNC experience, GD&T application, and the ability to read blueprints. Work hours are Mon-Thu 3:30 pm - 2 am, onsite, with a discretionary bonus plan and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading.
• 2+ years of experience as a CNC machinist.
• Experience performing machine set ups and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Work from drawings, sketches and specifications in completing various machining operations.
• Perform machine set ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts.
• Obtain required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedure and perform inspections on work-in-progress using measuring devices.
• Complete and maintain all necessary records of time, part counts, first piece inspections, and requisition forms for each job.
• Make jigs, fixtures or other specialized non-production devices as qualified and assigned.
• Perform first piece inspections on basic products for other machinists as assigned.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance of machines according to PM schedule.
• Troubleshoot drawings, machining, tooling, programming, material, etc. and make competent decisions.
• Utilize GD&T as called out on print.
• Ensure proper machine setup and accurate interpretation of prints to prevent damage to material.
