Job summary

ProMach, a leader in packaging automation, is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up, run, and adjust programs on milling and turning centers. This role requires attention to detail and comfort working in a high-mix/low-volume environment to maintain tight tolerances on critical features.

In a fast-paced shop, you will read prints, perform first/last article checks, and use calipers to verify parts meet print specifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 2 years technical training.
  • 3–5 years CNC machining experience on Mills, Lathes, or both.
  • Detail- and quality-oriented with good attendance.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Professional communication, attitude and image.
  • May require lifting of parts and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Mill or CNC Lathe machines based on experience and qualifications.
  • Setup machine with proper tooling.
  • Run/adjust programs as necessary to produce quality parts.
  • Verify that parts are machined correctly to the print.
  • Capable of using measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
  • Read and interpret blueprints including material gauge and tolerances.
  • Review/follow any specific instructions on job order.
  • Perform first/last article quality check, routing per guidelines and check for burrs.
  • Make sure all jobs are recorded within MRP system and quantities are accurately counted.
  • Place parts neatly with job orders and deliver to next work center.
  • Perform general maintenance of machines.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Follow all safety policies within work center.
  • Work to achieve routing times and report to supervisor major discrepancies.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments.

Overview

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setup, operation, and basic programming adjustments on CNC milling and/or turning centers to produce precision components to print specifications.
