Job summary

ProMach is seeking a CNC Machinist responsible for setup, operation, and basic programming on CNC milling and turning centers to produce precision components to print specifications. The role requires attention to detail in a high-mix/low-volume environment and maintaining tight tolerances on critical features.

Responsibilities include setting up machines, tooling, running programs, inspecting parts, reading blueprints, and recording quantities in the MRP system.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2 years technical training preferred.
  • 3-5 years of CNC machining experience on mills, lathes, or both.
  • Detail and quality oriented with good attendance.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Professional communication, attitude and image. May require lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Verify that parts are machined correctly to the print.

Overview

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setup, operation, and basic programming adjustments on CNC milling and/or turning centers to produce precision components to print specifications. This role requires attention to detail, comfort working in a high-mix/low-volume environment, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances on critical features.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC Mill or CNC Lathe machines based on experience and qualifications
  • Setup machine with proper tooling
  • Run/adjust programs as necessary to produce quality parts
  • Verify that parts are machined correctly to the print
  • Capable of using measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
  • Read and interpret blueprints including material gauge and tolerances
  • Review/follow any specific instructions on job order
  • Perform first/last article quality check, routing per guidelines and check for burrs
  • Make sure all jobs are recorded within MRP system and quantities are accurately counted
  • Place parts neatly with job orders and deliver to next work center
  • Perform general maintenance of machines
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Follow all safety policies within work center
  • Work to achieve routing times and report to supervisor major discrepancies
  • Perform additional duties and assignments
