Job summary

Plastics Extrusion Machinery is seeking CNC Machinists to join their McPherson, KS team. The position offers a Monday-Friday first shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) in a clean, climate-controlled environment with a $24-$29/hour pay scale and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, reading blueprints, selecting tools, performing first-piece inspections, and collaborating with engineers to produce precision components.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to machine precision components according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and machining specifications.
• Perform first-piece inspections and adjust as needed to meet tolerances.
• Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Monitor machining operations, troubleshoot setup or tooling issues, and adjust to maintain quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and manufacturing team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to machine precision components according to specifications.

• Select, install, and properly set cutting tools, fixtures, and machine offsets.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and machining specifications.

• Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet required tolerances and quality standards.

• Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.

• Monitor machining operations, troubleshoot setup or tooling issues, and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.

• Perform routine machine maintenance (maintain coolant and machine lubrication) maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Work closely with programmers, engineers, and other manufacturing team members to successfully produce custom and complex components.
