Job summary

Pekoprecision in Rochester, NY is looking for a CNC Machinist responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines to manufacture products to specification. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a machine-shop environment and strong knowledge of mill machines.

The Opportunity: CNC Machinist

The CNC Machinist is responsible for the setup and operation of a variety of CNC machines, including horizontal and vertical mills. The machinist will set up, operate, and manufacture products according to blueprint specifications and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate various CNC mill machines, adhering to the blueprint specifications
• Conduct first‑piece inspection to ensure the part is free of defects and ready for the next stage of production
• Comply with all aspects of 5S
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Manager

Reports to: Machining Manager

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum education level of high school, GED, or equivalent
• Three or more years of experience in a machine‑shop environment
• Three or more years of experience working with mill machines

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Precision Machining
• Experience with multi‑axis CNC milling with FANUC controls, MAZAK, or similar platforms
• Experience with horizontal mill machines

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $20.00–$32.00 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential.
