Job summary

Apex Water and Process is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. This hands-on role focuses on setting up and operating CNC milling equipment to produce precise plastic and metal components, interpreting prints and programs, and inspecting work to meet our quality standards.

You will own your work, identify cost improvements, and contribute to a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience operating CNC mills.
• Knowledge of and ability to run Haas, Mazak, and Milltronics milling machines.
• Ability to understand and edit CNC programs.
• Ability to estimate labor hours to produce new parts and initiate cost reductions on current parts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision and effectively plan, organize and execute activities.
• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets.
• Ability to read engineering documents and drawings without assistance.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

The CNC Machinist will have the opportunity to put their machining expertise to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment where quality, precision, and continuous improvement matter! This role will involve the set up and operation of CNC milling equipment to produce custom plastic and metal components, interpreting prints and programs, making CNC program adjustments, and inspecting finished work to ensure it meets our high-quality standards. The CNC Machinist will have the opportunity to take ownership of their work, solve problems, identify process and cost improvements, and contribute their experience as a valued member of a growing, team-oriented manufacturing operation.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five (5) years of experience operating CNC mills
• Knowledge of and ability to run all machines in the assigned work center (Haas, Mazak, and Milltronics milling machines) - willing to train on brand of mill
• Ability to understand and edit CNC programs
• Ability to estimate labor hours to produce new parts and initiate cost reductions on current parts
• Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision and effectively plan, organize and execute activities
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of hazards associated with job duties and ability to activate emergency response procedures and operate applicable emergency equipment
• Ability to be pro-active, decisive, objective, adaptable, and flexible
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance
• Willingness and ability to take direction, work well with others and be an active team member
• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets
• Ability to read engineering documents and drawings without assistance
• Willingness and ability to work overtime when required to support customer demand

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The anticipated pay range for this position is between $28 - $34/hr, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off.
