Job summary

Watteredge – Avon Lake, OH is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to produce precision components using CNC mills and lathes. You will read blueprints, interpret drawings, and work across X, Y, Z axes, including 4th and 5th axis operations.

You will set up tooling, edit G & M Codes, verify tolerances with micrometers and calipers, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC machining in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Knowledge of X, Y, Z; 4th and 5th axis machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances.
• Working knowledge of G & M Codes, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components.

• Change fixtures, tooling, and offsets to ensure accurate setups.
• Edit G & M Codes, speeds, and feeds as needed.
• Inspect finished parts with micrometers, calipers, and precision equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues.
• Maintain tolerances and ensure parts meet quality specs.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes.
• Knowledge of X, Y, Z, 4th, and 5th axis machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances and specifications.
• Working knowledge of G & M Codes, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problemsolving skills.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
